For the 19th year, the MCCI Roundup Nationals
will once again be in the home town of Ford Motor Company,
Dearborn, Michigan.
Wednesday, July 25 Early Arrival Day
See many sites in Dearborn, the home of Ford Motor Company.
11:30 AM: We will caravan from the host hotel to MCCI President
Shawn Simpson’s house (address will be provided), for a cookout.
Burgers and hot dogs will be served, and there is plenty of
parking for our cars and trucks and trailers.
For those that are interested, as a separate activity,
there is an option of going to Milan Dragway, in Milan, MI, a
test and tune (http://www.milandragway.com/). The gates open at
4:00 pm, and there is a $25 charge for Test & Tune.
Thursday, July 26 Family Day # 1
Ford Test Track and Automotive Hall of Fame
10:00 AM: We will caravan by a police escort (required) to
the Dearborn Development Center Ford Test Track, Oakwood Boulevard,
Dearborn, Michigan 48124. The Test Track will consist of a
guided tour. Cost is $25 per vehicle, which is donated to charity.
A signed waiver will be collected from each vehicle prior to leaving
the hotel. For those that are interested in attending the Test Track Tour,
some requirements are: no open-toed shoes, and long pants or jeans only.
Also, NO cameras are allowed on the Test Track.
After visiting the Test Track, we will break for lunch. An option for
lunch is the Michigan Café, which is located at Greenfield Village and
the Henry Ford Museum, next to the Ford Test Track. Museum admission is
not needed to eat at the Café.
2:00 PM: We will visit the Automotive Hall of Fame, 21400 Oakwood
Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

The Automotive Hall of Fame is located next to the Dearborn Development
Center Ford Test Track, and the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village.

For 2012, there is a new automotive exhibit at the Henry Ford called
“Driving America”.
6:00 PM: Supper. We will meet at the hotel prior to going for a cruise-in
at a local restaurant.
Friday, July 27 Family Day # 2
Nankin Mills Tour and Roush Tour
10:00 AM: We will caravan from the hotel by traveling on Hines Drive,
a road that travels through the most scenic drives in the area, to
Nankin Mills, 33175 Ann Arbor Trail, Westland, MI 48185.
Nankin Mills is a historic
site that used to be owned by Ford Motor Company to manufacture parts,
as one of Henry Ford’s “village industries”. Nankin Mills is now an
interpretive center that is open for tours, showing the history of the
mill. Admission is free, with donations accepted.
After visiting Nankin Mills, we will caravan for lunch to
Daly's Drive In, 31500
Plymouth Rd., Livonia, 48150. This is an original Drive In that has
been in operation since the late 1950’s.
After lunch, we will caravan to Roush Industries, 11851 Market St.,
Livonia, MI 48150, for a tour of their automotive museum. Roush Industries
is a major manufacturer of aftermarket parts, as well as complete cars for
Ford. Admission is free.
6:00 PM: We will meet at the hotel prior to going to a local restaurant for
supper. We will go to the Sign of the Beefcarver Restaurant, 23100 Michigan
Ave., Dearborn, MI 48124. The main menu choices, in addition to roast beef,
include fish, turkey, chicken, and ham. Also, there are many side dishes,
including vegetables, macaroni and cheese, fresh salads, desserts, and more.
The annual club meeting will follow supper.

Saturday, July 28 Show Day (Hotel Parking Lot)
9:00 AM-Noon Registration
Noon-2:00 PM Judging
3:00 PM Awards Ceremony
Saturday evening is free to do as you please. As always, there are plenty
of good times to be had in the usual manner of hanging around in the parking
lot, with each other at the hotel.
For those that are interested, there is the Telegraph Road (US 24) Car Cruise
the day of the show. The cruise route on Telegraph Road stretches from Eureka
Road in the city of Taylor, to the south, to Puritan Road in the city of Redford,
to the north. This car cruise is an “active” cruise, where you have the
opportunity to drive your car on the road in the cruise. This cruise is
considered a “mini-Woodward Dream Cruise”.
Sunday, July 29
There are opportunities to see the many sites in the city of Dearborn and
surrounding areas. One place of note is in the city of Milford, MI, at Baker’s,
for a Sunday car cruise-in. The address is 2025 S. Milford Road, Milford, MI

Baker’s has been billed, per Baker’s website, as “America's Largest Weekly Cruise”.
